St Marys Corner
St Mary's Corner, a landmark development at St Mary's College in Adelaide, showcases innovative design and material use. Completed in 2018, this $8.8 million project by Grieve Gillett Andersen architects houses the senior school, visual arts faculty, and PE facilities on the western edge of Adelaide's CBD. The building's façade features a striking combination of VMZINC cladding in Quartz-Zinc and Pigmento Red finishes, applied using Seam and Interlocking Panel profiles. This playful layering of zinc and polycarbonate shifts and peels back to reveal a 'floating corner', creating a dynamic illuminated effect at night. St Mary's Corner exemplifies how thoughtful architecture can tell stories, with a narrative centered on confidence, self-awareness, diversity, and a pioneering spirit.
